When do we laugh?

Have you ever thought about when people laugh?

If you understand when people laugh, you will be able to make those around you laugh more easily.

And since laughing has many benefits, you may even be able to make those around you happier.

Today, I will explain why we laugh.

1, Something unexpected

One possible explanation for this is that people laugh when something "unexpected" happens. For example, people unconsciously predict that "this is what will happen," and when that prediction is wrong, or "unexpected," people laugh uncontrollably.

Also, in Japanese comedy culture, there is the role of "tsukkomi", which can be described as pointing out unexpected events and returning to the default course again.

To put it simply, making people laugh is similar to surprising people.

2, Laugh at one's own mistakes

According to a study by Japanese scholars, "the current theory is that we laugh at our own mistakes”. In other words, we recognize that our predictions are wrong, and then we laugh at our mistakes, which is a bit more difficult to do in an instant.

When you think about it, being a comedian or a TV personality is a very high level of intellectual work. In an instant, they have to disrupt the harmony of the schedule and make it understandable to the audience.
